Option 2. BITUMINOUS SET
Option 2 for installing pavers on a concrete surface is to use a bituminous binder. This will adhere the pavers to the pavement and create a level surface. You will need to place a 1″ bedding layer of sand mixed with a bituminous binder between the pavers and the surface. Be sure to place drainage holes in low spots so water that seeps into joints can escape. Follow the instructions provided with your pavers for installation.
Option 3. MORTAR SET
There are 3 options for laying a paver patio made of pavers. First, clean holes through the concrete well and remove all dirt, oil, and debris. Next, place 1/2″ of latex-modified mortar underneath each paver and press it into contact with the concrete. Finally, fill the joints around each paver with the same latex-modified mortar and ensure a nice even finish.
To properly slope cover pavers in asphalt or concrete, mix mortar and press it onto the surface with a trowel. After the mortar is dry, apply a Paver sealer to protect the project for years to come.
