A sample photo from my Fujifilm X Pro1 (announced January 2012).
[I just realised - duh! - that all the digital cameras I use are really old, except for my iPhone (and even that's now been superseded).]
I bought mine in 2014, 2nd-hand, from a friend (at "mates rates") who was trading "up" to an XT-1 and wanted me invested in Fujifilm "stuff" so she could pick my brain about it. (The 23mm lens, along with a 14mm, is new this year though; despite me never, not quite, taking to the camera.)
I've been trialling my X Pro1 as the camera I carry in my bicycle pannier (because I don't want to bounce anything more expensive or delicate). The Canon G1 X seems to be winning that spot, though, as being a little more convenient.

Sample shot from my Canon G1 X (announced January 2012).
[I just realised - duh! - that all the digital cameras I use are really old, except for my iPhone (and even that's now been superseded).]
I bought mine in 2013 for travel back and forth to Melbourne (for work) so as not to cart too much gear, nor leave expensive equipment behind in a residential hotel if I travelled without it.
I've been using it quite a bit again, recently, as the camera I put in my bicycle pannier. I don't want to bounce anything more delicate or expensive in there. Really, it's between my Fujifilm X Pro1 and this Canon - with the G1 X likely proving more convenient. I've also found that using the tilt/swivel screen as a waist-level finder attracts less attention, which is another advantage of the Canon.

I liked both the colour and BW versions of this - but on balance I decided I prefer the BW.
The lens used was really a Zeiss G Planar 45mm/f2 converted to Leica M-mount.
lady_plus_gentleman_with_blue_hat-1-1800x1200
I complimented this gentleman on his hat. While he had limited English (and I have no Chinese beyond "railway Cantonese" - "the next station is Tai Koo") we managed to chat a bit. I asked if I could take his photo - and he asked if his wife could join him - to which I gave a resounding "yes!"
Note: the lens used is really a Zeiss G Planar 45mm/f2 converted to Leica M mount.

bike_and_blockage-3bw-1800x1200
Just a quick photo, taken while trying to ride my bike to the local shops. It was a bit of an obstacle course today, after the tunnel under the M2 flooded through heavy rain over Wednesday/Thursday.
This was taken with my old G1X camera because I don't want to bounce a more valuable camera around the bottom of my bike pannier.
I'm playing with conversion to black and white because I'm contemplating a black and white only digital camera. I've reached no conclusions as yet. However, I think this one might well be better in colour. Still, I persist.
