Planets in solar system You can't travel in the solar system!
Here, grab my beer! 😁
I was lucky enough to visit 6 planets on 21th of December. It all started by chance when I spotted Venus from the yard and quickly unpacked my equipment. It was a great joy when I finally managed to capture Uranus and Neptune for the first time. I didn't plan this adventure, but it turned out very well.
The list is opened by the planet Venus. Its namesake became the figure of the goddess in the 3rd century BC, whose name means desire and charm. We look at it as a star at dusk and dawn, because it illuminates the dawn or early evening hours with its wonderful brightness. Being a planet closer to the Sun, it has phases like the Moon. It is shown in the picture in its last phase.
The planet Mars is the second. From a few lines of poetry that survived, it is clear that it was the patron saint of agriculture. Agriculture led to the symbol of protective masculinity and from there it was only a step to the image of the protective warrior man. Thus he became the god of war and battle. In the picture, if I correctly identified the Arabia terra and Utopia platinum areas, the upper part is the ice cap of the north pole of Mars. Mars has two moons: Phobos (fear) and Deimos (terror).
Thirdly, the mighty planet Jupiter. Iuppiter is one of the most ancient Italian deities, originally the god of the sun and atmospheric phenomena, lightning and thunder, and also the source of all life. In the beginning, he played the role of a war god, and later became the patron of the Roman state and the most revered god. The mass of Jupiter is two and a half times the mass of all other planets combined. Its gravitational force protects the Earth from comets that stray into the solar system. It was visited by the New Horizons spacecraft and is being observed as an orbiter by the Juno spacecraft. It boasts 79 moons, of which the 4 Galilean moons can be observed with a small telescope.
Next in line is the planet Uranus. Uranus is the god of the sky, conceived and given birth to by Gaia without a father, and then became his wife. One of his children was Cronus, who rebelled against him at the instigation of his mother. He cut off his father's reproductive organ with a sickle, deprived him of his power, and took over the world from him. The upper part of the planet's atmosphere absorbs red light, which gives it a pale blue-green color. Its axial tilt is very close to 90°, so one pole is facing the Sun for a significant part of its orbital period. The large axial tilt may have been created by a collision with an early planet-sized object billions of years ago.
Finally, there is the planet Neptune. It was named after the Roman god of the seas because of its color. An ancient Italian deity who was the god of fresh water springs and rivers. His July festival has been celebrated since ancient times, and he had a sanctuary between the Palatine and Aventine hills, along an ancient stream, but little is known about his cult. Unfortunately, Neptune has only been visited by the Voyager-2 spacecraft. Under the atmosphere of hydrogen and helium, there is a mantle rich in water, ammonia and methane. The temperature is between 2000 and 5000 Kelvin. The pressure is tens of millions of times that of the surface of the Earth. Under such conditions, molecules break into atoms and carbon combines into diamonds.

working hard to make a living feet series
Working Class Man by Jimmy Barnes
~
Working hard to make a living
Bringing shelter from the rain
A father's son left to carry on
Blue denim in his veins
Oh, he's a working class man
Well, he's a steel town disciple
He's a legend of his kind
He's running like a cyclone
Across the wild midwestern sky
Oh, he's a working class man
(Whoa) He believes in God and Elvis
(Whoa) He gets out when he can
(Whoa) He did his time in Vietnam
Still mad at Uncle Sam
(Whoa) He's a simple man
With a heart of gold
In a complicated land
Oh, he's a working class man
Well, he loves a little woman
Someday he'll make his wife
Saving all the overtime
For the one love of his life

When night falls over Tokyo It was one of those moments that I can't get over when we stood in front of this bridge (Rainbow Bridge) on the first evening after arriving of our trip to Japan as night fell over Tokyo. I so desperately wanted an atmosphere like this over a city that seems endless to me and that never sleeps. I could still feel the jet lag and was a little unsteady on my feet, but I didn't want to miss this sight and it gave me new strength that literally inspired me that evening. We spent two nights in Tokyo at the beginning of our trip to be able to deal with this jet lag better, because our hotel was not far from the airport. This night, which quickly fell over Tokyo, was simply fantastic and so beautiful. Everything fit together and last but not least, just before we were about to leave, these small illuminated boats came and decorated the area around the Rainbow Bridge in Tokyo with their colorful lights. What a sight, what a gift. This amazing looking bridge was one of my biggest wishes for Tokyo, a city full of surprises and vibrant life even at night. But it seemed to me that the nights in Tokyo had a calmer, more peaceful atmosphere, especially because of the many lights and colors that even lit up the night sky a little. At least that's how it seemed to me. I will remember this one night fondly, because one of my big dreams and wishes came true on this location. Although I'm not really a fan of big cities - I avoid them wherever possible - the sight of the Rainbow Bridge fascinated me immensely and I was even able to enjoy a few moments in silence in this city of millions. How strange the world is sometimes and full of big and small surprises hehe...
Well, our trip through Japan – the most friendly country I know - was full of moments of happiness. That's how I felt from the beginning, because many encounters and experiences seemed to me as if someone was guiding us with a kind hand. The weather during these two weeks was simply a dream. Sunshine and warm temperatures made it so much easier for us and we enjoyed every moment in the land of the rising sun. Even in the big cities like Tokyo, Hiroshima or Osaka I felt very comfortable and above all absolutely safe. The great kindness of the Japanese people always put a smile on my face and I was amazed so many times at how helpful and patient they were with all of us. That alone was more than worth a trip to Japan. The many friendly encounters with people filled my heart with so much joy. In addition, the whole trip was very well organized by my eldest son and his lovely Japanese wife, which made things so much easier for us and without whose help we would probably still be at a train station somewhere in a big city.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank both of them for their fantastic work. I will tell you more about them in the following pictures from our trip through Japan and of course about their wonderful wedding.
In the meantime, I hope that you, my dear friends, enjoy the night picture of Tokyo and have a little patience with me until the next photo, which I have to choose with some effort from the over 1200 pictures that I took in the two weeks we enjoyed Japan.

38# Omaha, NEB. Entrance to the old Burlington Station Omaha station, located at 1001 South 10th Street in downtown Omaha, Nebraska, is a historically and culturally significant landmark, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, which is currently used as the studio facility for Omaha's ABC affiliate, television station KETV (channel 7). When it was opened in 1898, this Italianate style building, designed by Thomas Rogers Kimball, was hailed by newspapers around the world for its grand architecture and accommodations. The station is a contributing property to the Omaha Rail and Commerce Historic District, and sits southeast of the Old Market, and immediately north of Little Italy.
Beginning:
The Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, serving the Midwest since its founding in 1850, first entered downtown Omaha in 1870. In addition to transporting Nebraska's farm produce to other areas of the country, The Burlington Railroad also handled mail through the area from 1884 to 1972.
The railroad was influential in the growth of Omaha and Nebraska, and the Omaha Burlington Station served the needs of both passengers and freight longer than any depot in Omaha history. A temporary building was first erected on the present site in 1890 in anticipation of the construction of a new and grander edifice to be completed by the Union Depot Company, a partnership between the Union Pacific and Burlington Railroads. Later that year, construction was halted due to Union Pacific's financial difficulties, and in 1897 the Burlington announced plans to build a new station. Famed Omaha architect Thomas Rogers Kimball designed the building.
This new Burlington station opened on July 4, 1898, in time for the Trans-Mississippi International Exposition, a glittering inter-national showcase that attracted visitors to Omaha from around the world. The main lobby featured a grand circular staircase that led passengers downstairs to track level and the trains. A large canopy, a first for an Omaha train station, covered two tracks and kept passengers from the elements. The spacious lobby included new amenities, such as separate men's and women's waiting rooms, a gentleman's smoking room, and a sit-down lunch counter. The interior featured Sienna marble columns, and mosaic floors with the staircase accented with bronze castings of Rocky Mountain Sheep heads. The total cost of the station was $408,000.00, a very impressive amount for the day.
The building attracted considerable attention for its pristine beauty. The accolades were universal. A German commission judged the station to be America's finest railroad station, and in 1908, the Chicago Record wrote, 'The handsomest railway station ever seen is the Burlington Station at Omaha. It is an artistic gem and looks like a Grecian Temple.'
Although great attention was lavished on the classic proportions and styling of the station, functional considerations were also important to the design. Since the two-story depot was built next to the 10th Street viaduct, the main entrance to the station was from the viaduct to the second floor. This portico featured twenty-eight massive Colorado granite columns. The walls of the depot were built of light grey brick and buff Indiana limestone; the roof was covered in red glazed tile. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, in discussing the Omaha station in 1889 said, 'Through an inspiration worthy of general imitation, it (The Burlington Railroad) has erected at Omaha a most imposing, most original, and most architectural of passenger stations.'
Little Pied Comorant (1 of 1)-2 Early morning and a successful hunt for this Little Pied Cormorant. I got to this spot before first light and set up my gear, I got myself down to water level and waited for something to happen. This Cormorant did not see me and just kept coming closer so that when the sun rose, it was hit with some nice side lighting.
