North easterly view across the south of Barnsley from the Stainborough Castle Tower. Wentworth Castle Gardens, Stainborough. National Trust. Drax power station is on the horizon and the hills behind it will be the Yorkshire Wolds.
The photo below was taken in 2015 and as well as Drax Eggborough power station is visible on the left of the photo. Ferrybridge power station is to the left of Eggborough, out of shot on this photo.
Of these three large coal fired power stations only Drax has survived by being converted to burn biomass fuel.

Observation Cars "Port Wentworth" and "Columbus" 1-22-24
Atlantic Wood Industries “Port Wentworth” is a heavyweight Observation Car that was built in 1925 by Pullman. Its career originally started with the Central of Georgia as their Parlour Car “Edith”. In later years however it was converted to a standard coach and given the number 647. In 1970 under the Southern Railway it was rebuilt yet again into its current Office Car configuration. Sometime after the car was deemed “Surplus” by the Railroad and was sold to the now defunct Atlantia Creosote Company. Atlantic Wood Industries got the car sometime after who named it the “Port Wentworth” after the nearby municipality of the same name. Presently the car is on long term loan to the Georgia State Railroad Museum from AWI.
Meanwhile the Columbus, or Central Of Georgia #5341 (on the right), is another Business Car that originally began life in 1913 straight from Pullman as Sun Parlor Observation Car #3855 with the Illinois Central. Later It was converted to its current Business Car Configuration and given the number of #100 under the IC before the COG acquired it. 2024-10-114 Julie's Pond, Hemlock Ravine Park, Halifax
One of Halifax's lesser known attractions...
From Wikipedia:
Prince's Lodge was named for the estate that Prince Edward, Duke of Kent resided in while in Halifax in from 1794 to 1800. In 1794, Prince Edward arrived to serve in Halifax as Commander-in-Chief of the King's forces in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. He was accompanied by his French mistress Madame de Saint-Laurent. The Prince was often entertained by Sir John Wentworth, the Lieutenant-Governor of the colony, at his rural estate, the "Friar's Cell", as Wentworth called it, is an allusion to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The Prince liked it so much that Wentworth felt obliged to offer it to him during his stay in Halifax. Prince Edward accepted, and had the residence renovated into a two-storey (likely Palladian architecture mansion)[2] and expanded, while also having the lands and gardens (with Chinese like pagodas) around the estate developed by a landscaper brought from England. The result was what is today Hemlock Ravine Park, 185 acres (0.75 km2) with a heart-shaped pond known as Julie's Pond, constructed by order of the Prince in her honour.

This 3-image pano was taken from Goat Island in Portsmouth Harbor. It was too breezy to have nice glassy water, but the grouping of small sailboats near Leachs Island and the Wentworth-Douglas Mansion in Portsmouth caught my eye.

The Census at Bethlehem - Wentworth
Complete by Kim today.
Wikipedia:
The Census at Bethlehem (also known as The Numbering at Bethlehem) is an oil-on-panel by the Flemish Renaissance artist Pieter Bruegel the Elder, painted in 1566. It is signed and measures about 1155 × 1645 mm. It is currently held and exhibited at the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium in Brussels, which acquired it in 1902. It is one of the first paintings in Western art to feature a significant snow landscape and was painted in the aftermath of the winter of 1565, which was one of the harshest winters on record.
The painting shows Bethlehem as a Flemish village in winter at sundown. A group of people is gathered at a building on the left, having their details taken down by a scribe. A sign bearing the Habsburg double-headed eagle is visible on the building. Other people are making their way to the same building, including the figures of Joseph and the pregnant Virgin Mary on a donkey.A pig is being slaughtered, though of course such an event would never have occurred in Jewish Bethlehem. People are going about their daily business in the cold, children are shown playing with toys on the ice and having snowball fights. At the very centre of the painting is a spoked wheel, sometimes interpreted as being a reference to the wheel of fortune. To the right, a man in a small hut is shown holding a clapper, a warning to keep away from leprosy. Leprosy was endemic in that part of Europe when the painting was created. There is a begging bowl in front of the hut. In the background, men drink at a makeshift bar, and in the distance are a well-kept church and a crumbling castle.
As he often did, Bruegel treats a biblical story, here the census of Quirinius, as a contemporary event. And once again, reference to particular political events has been adduced - in this case, the severity of the Spanish administration in the southern Netherlands. However, Bruegel may well be making a more general criticism of bureaucratic methods
