Find the reticulation connection to the water mains. You will find a solenoid valve that has isolated the system from the mains. The valve has failed internally and is not opening fully. Sydney - photographed from the Cahill Walkway on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, about 50 metres from the south-eastern pylon. Saturday night, 24th May, 2024. So I parked the car along Lavender Street at Lavender Bay (aka Milsons Point) and wandered down to Kirribilli to acquire a Flat White Coffee along with a Raspberry & Panna Cotta Tart, which I drank & ate walking across the Sydney Harbour Bridge, in order to grapple for a position on the walkway up above 'The Rocks' and Campbells Cove. I managed to fight off a Ninja-like battalion of photographers from Japan, as well as other warrior-style photographers from Cardiff, Madrid and Boston - all armed with tripods. Needless to say I still don't have a tripod but this ironically assisted me to gain my position for the fireworks. Hence this picture and other similar (though different) shots previously uploaded to Flickr. We crossed the Harbour Bridge today. We had hoped to go to Luna Park, but the line to get in was absolutely bonkers. So instead we walked a loop around a long block of Milsons Point, then caught the train back into the city. We chilled out at the hotel for a couple of hours, then went for a twilight dinner cruise on the harbour.

House of the Yellow Moon
So I often park the car at Lavender Bay (usually along Lavender Street) and then stroll down to Milsons Point and Kirribilli, before then ascending the sandstone steps and walking across the harbour bridge. I do many dusk and evening walks across the bridge. On this occasion, some weeks ago now, the moon was rising over the Eastern Suburbs and Sydney harbour. So I thought I would take a few photos. And I immediately thought of the song 'Yellow Moon' by the Neville Brothers and Herbie Hancock. The ferry 'Alexander' has just departed from Milsons Point Wharf and is now heading across the harbour to Circular Quay. The dusk city ferry service. The Alexander, a catamaran, is one of Sydney's 'First Fleet' class of ferries. It is a cool little ferry but, alas, there is no coffee available on board, lol. Photographed from the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The opening night of Vivid Sydney 2024. Friday evening, 24th May, 2024. So I parked the car on Lavender Street, at Lavender Bay (on the northern side of the harbour), and then walked across the harbour bridge from Milsons Point. I set up the camera about 100 metres from the south-eastern pylon, using my Sonos soundbar box (a rectangular cardboard box) as my tripod. It is of-course the deluxe model tripod with one setting, lol. The fireworks started at 6.00pm and then the Vivid lightshow commenced and, for a short time, merged with the fireworks. A cruise ship departing from Sydney harbour last Sunday. Late afternoon - Sunday 26th May, 2024. Photographed from a steel, cage-like, platform on the top of the Fire Stairs of Pier 2, at Hickson Road, Walsh Bay. This is one of my 'go to', secret, locations to get harbour, sunset and bridge shots (in a northern and/or eastern direction) and city skylines (looking south).
