'Oxley' (1) by Simon Hicks
Oxford, England.
I had wanted to follow some (if not all) of the Wild In Art sculpture trail in Oxford. It was not logistically possible! But they were having a farewell weekend, where all the large oxen and some of the calves were herded together in the Westgate Mall in Oxford.
So I set off early so as to see the sculptures, then visit Oxford Botanical Gardens ... another place I have never visited. In fact I had never been to Oxford at all, so it was a good chance to get a taster of the city too.
This is in the Westgate Mall, which is huge!
My name is Simon Hicks and I am the Director (and head of colouring in!) at ROCKETFUEL Creative, a graphic design and web design agency based in Abingdon. We’re incredibly proud to be involved in OxTrail and supporting Sobell House Hospice.
Being the ‘face’ of OxTrail, we wanted Oxley to stand out (even more than your average full-sized ox in the middle of Oxford), so a bright, colourful and memorable design was our goal. We’re pretty happy with him!

Wollomombi River Gorge (New England Region)
Wollomombi Falls is an enormous plunge waterfall located 40km east of Armidale in the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park in the New England Region of New South Wales (Australia)
With a height of well over 200 metres, the Wollomombi Falls were once considered the highest waterfall in Australia. Several lookout points give visitors after sufficient rainfall spectacular views of the two waterfalls and the massive gorge they drop into

You sometimes have to remind yourself what sweet little doves they are.
Little Mickey
The Australian Noisy Miner is, rightly or wrongly, reviled and even abused. Although quite a handsome member of the honeyeater family, they lack many of the social skills required to get along with others. They are quick to mob other birds and drive them away; creating a monoculture in their range.
This one might be too young to have developed these anti-social tendencies.
