Battersea Railway Bridge
Battersea Railway Bridge, viewed through one of the arches of Battersea Bridge.
The bridge was opened in 1863 and is one of the oldest surviving bridges across the Thames in London.
The bridge was jointly designed by William Baker, chief engineer of the London and North Western Railway, and T. H. Bertram of the Great Western Railway.
The contractors for its construction were Brassey and Ogilvie and it was completed at a cost of £87,000.
It was formerly known as Cremorne Bridge, and Network Rail who maintain the bridge refer to it as Chelsea River Bridge. The bridge is Grade II* listed.
