Renfe Viajeros S.A. (grupo Renfe Operadora): entre el 1 de octubre de 2024 y el 2 de marzo de 2025, el tramo entre Sant Vicenç de Calders y Tarragona está cerrado al tráfico ferroviario, por obras en el túnel de Roda de Berà y adaptación al tercer carril. Por este motivo, los trenes regionales del servicio R15 (con un horario provisional) son desviados por las líneas de vía única entre Sant Vicenç de Calders y La Plana-Picamoixons y entre esta y Reus, lo que, en algunos casos, obliga a invertir el sentido de marcha una o dos veces.
Al ser desviados también por este tramo los trenes de mercancías que se dirigen o proceden del área de Barcelona o de la línea de Portbou, el tráfico en esta sección normalmente tranquila ha aumentado considerablemente.
La habitual inoperancia de Adif y de alguna de las empresas ferroviarias (básicamente una, la de siempre), convierten la difícil gestión de tanto tráfico en este tramo de vía única en un auténtico desastre.
Aquí vemos una UT eléctrica de la serie 447 pasando por el puente sobre el río Francolí. Está realizando el tren 30501 de la línea R15, de Barcelona Estació de França a Reus y Tarragona, con un retraso de 40 minutos.

Renfe Viajeros S.A. (Renfe Operadora group): between 1 October 2024 and 2 March 2025, the section between Sant Vicenç de Calders and Tarragona is closed to rail traffic due to works in the Roda de Berà tunnel and adaptation to the third rail. For this reason, regional trains of the R15 service (with a provisional timetable) are diverted along the single-track lines between Sant Vicenç de Calders and La Plana-Picamoixons and between this and Reus, which, in some cases, forces the direction of travel to be reversed once or twice.
As freight trains heading to or coming from the Barcelona area or the Portbou line are also diverted along this section, traffic on this normally quiet section has increased considerably.
The usual ineffectiveness of Adif and some of the railway companies (basically one, the usual one), turns the difficult management of so much traffic on this single-track section into a real disaster.
Here we see a series 447 EMU passing over the bridge over the Francolí River. Is the train 30501 on line R15, from Barcelona Estació de França to Reus and Tarragona, with a delay of 40 minutes.

While I took a trip to Japan with a friend, we were lucky enough to not only catch a lot of these JNR 381 series sets but also ride a few during our time there too before their retirement later the same year. Here we see a 381 Series Yakumo sit at Izumo station after disembarking passengers. The popularity and history of these sets did not go unnoticed, as the first tilting EMU and the last of its kind in revenue service, many people would go to see these sets operating around the area.
The (second to) final stretch
After a long day of traveling between Tokyo & Fujikawaguchiko, the second to last train we’d need to take to get back to our hotel was this JR Chūō Line (Rapid) train back to Tokyo Station. The EMU shown here is the JR East made E233 Series, introduced into service in 2006.

As with the class 305 EMU's in the previous upload Regional Railways was use to receiving cast offs from elsewhere. With the arrival of Sprinter DMU's in the late 1980's on the Western Region then Network Turbo sets in the London area from 1990 what had once been solely used on Western Region suburban services, the class 117 3-car DMU sets suddenly started to get transferred to Tyseley Depot in Birmingham from 1987 in increasing numbers.
Most first generation DMU's ran in lose formed sets with depots allocating their own set numbers or simply nothing at all, but some did run with full TOPS set numbers like the one seen here arriving at Boston with the 08.07 Nottingham to Skegness. This particular set wasn't a Network South-East cast off and had previously been Provincial Sector stock allocated to Bristol Bath Road depot where it carried the set number B433. It moved to Tyseley Depot on 10/01/1988 and became their set T308. It was one of a small batch of class 117's selected for extended life overhaul and emerged from works in April 1991 in Regional Railways livery. To differentiate the overhauled sets from the un-refurbished ones they were given full TOPS class numbers and an attempt was made to operate them as fixed sets hence this one losing T308 in favour of 117 308.
