Humberside Fire and Rescue DH09P4 - YN66 MVK
And from one charity somehow involving the fire brigade, we go to another. Last week, Leeds Rhinos legend, friend of the late Rob Burrow CBE and great charity fundraiser Kevin Sinfield came to town as part of his 'Running Home for Christmas' 7 marathons in 7 days challenge, greeted with a warm welcome (despite the weather) by both Hull KR and Hull FC fans - further boosted by the fact his running team had two sets of shirts ready for both clubs. Naturally, the fire brigade, known charity fundraisers wherever you go, really, followed him along the whole route, with crews from Beverley and both sides of Hull greeting him at various points. At the finishing line at Sewell Group Craven Park, crews from Bransholme (pictured) and East Hull (not pictured) were there to welcome Sinfield and his crew through the gates, with the East Hull appliance to the right of this image having a banner attached reading 'Thank you #TeamMND for fighting motor neurone disease'. Which, after it pulled up, posed an interesting question: how many firefighters does it take to put up a banner?
Seen here arriving in the car park of Sewell Group Craven Park ahead of the arrival of Kevin Sinfield and his running crew is Humberside Fire and Rescue's DH09P4, a 2016 EmergencyOne-bodied Scania P280 based at Bransholme fire station (DH09).

St Marys Abbey, York
Abbey church, now ruined. 1089, 1270-94. Magnesian limestone incorporating some re-used Roman gritstone. 8-bay nave, 3-bay transepts, 9-bay east arm, all aisled: central tower originally. All that remains today are the north and west walls, plus a few other remnants.
West front: on moulded plinth, buttressed and arcaded in three tiers of trefoiled blind arches springing from tripled shafts with moulded or foliate capitals under crocketted gables. Remains of 3-light window.
Once one of the most prosperous abbeys in Northern England, its remains lie in what are now the York Museum Gardens. Much stone was removed from the site in the 18th century, in 1705 for St. Olave's Church, between 1717 and 1720 for Beverley Minster.

Friend Peter Rose and I recently had a day out to Chesterfield and Bakewell. As we have done in the past, we have merged the images that we both gathered, the copyright then being joint D Basford/PM Rose.
It was November 2008 that Plaxton (by then a member of the ‘Alexander Dennis Ltd’. group) introduced the Elite coach. It was a head turner then and in my view it still is.
Chesterfield is on the ‘Tourist Trail’. Mainly I suspect, because of the crooked spire, so there is a steady stream of visiting coaches throughout the year.
